There are several different ways to play Iron Rage. It can be played on several platforms, such as Kongregate, Facebook, or directly on the Iron Rage site, in your web browser using HTML5. You can also download the Iron Rage launcher from here, which provides a standalone application which often provides better performance than the browser version. However, you must create an account on one of the other platforms first and then use the credentials you get from that account in order to log in using the launcher.
Iron Rage was originally designed as a Flash game, so when Adobe ended Flash support at the end of 2020, a new approach was necessary to keep playing. Initially, the only way was to configure your browser to force it to enable Flash content after it was cut off by Adobe, but later the launcher and the HTML5 versions were released, allowing players to continue to play without these workarounds. The directions for fixing your Flash installation are saved here, although they should no longer be necessary.
Launcher troubleshooting[]
If you are having issues with the Launcher, make sure that the Launcher is updated to the most recent version. There should be a "Update Iron Launcher" button in the top right which will download the new installer; download and run it to update your version. If you don't have this button, you can also download the installer directly from https://iron-rage.com/enter.php
In certain rare cases, you may need to create a mms.cfg file manually. Follow the directions below to create the mms.cfg file and place it in the following folder (on Windows):
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\IronRage\Pepper Data\Shockwave Flash\System\
and restart the launcher.
Flash workarounds[]
If for some reason you do need to work around the Flash end-of-life, the instructions for doing so are preserved here. Note that many browsers (such as Chrome) have their own Flash expiration, which these instructions may not be able to bypass.

For every solution listed below the same mms.cfg content is required, only the folder is different. The location of the folder depends on both your browser and operating system, and is given below for common combinations.

Since the configuration is a whitelist or allowlist, it means that other websites will not be re-enabled, and if you want flash anywhere else, you have to add another line explicitly. Take care to only add sites you trust, as flash is now unsupported. (Perhaps other Kongregate flash games..)

Create/Save[]
If you want to create and save mms.cfg yourself, but mms.cfg always comes out to be mms.cfg.txt, here is how you save it:
"Save as type" -> "All files" should be selected!
Google Chrome[]
For Chrome, mms.cfg must be copied to your profile in your user folder: where <username> is your user name (obviously) and <profile> is "Default" if you have a single browser profile, or "Profile n" where n is an integer.
You most likely have to create the "System" folder in "Shockwave Flash" folder!
Windows[]
AppData is a hidden folder you may want to unhide, but you can still find it with search, or type in the navigation bar of windows explorer. You can also paste the whole path string there.
